My first time: the first step in psychological treatment

Most people who come to my consultation come with lifelong demotivation, As if the essence of the sun rising each day ceased to shine. It seems to me already a milestone that a person wants to seek a solution since the first step has already been taken. From this initial moment, the evolution is only constant and very exciting.

    Evolution caused by therapy

In the early stages of psychological treatment I see in the eyes of these people how the calendar sheets go by without making any sense to them, even how they raise the fear of coming to therapy and whether it is right or not. They transform under their anguish into dull beings that I am always sure they will shine again.

For this reason, it is necessary to make them feel welcome through words and senses from the first moment. This is why in my consultation I have a purple wall; once during a conference I saw that this color was ideal, it gives peace and good feelings. These little details help to make people feel comfortable and open, which is very important, especially at the initial stage of therapy.

At first, patients are often lost. His first contact with me was coming to a situation where they don’t know where to start solving their problems; they blame themselves for what happens to them and don’t just want to make eye contact. Come to you as a therapist someone to move on, they know they have chosen the right place and I will not let them go together.

It’s very rewarding to see how it goes away after the sessions and how when I come home I start to think and prepare your case and how this person becomes someone important to me. There are no hours or moments, there is only the well-being of them, since I am in consultation I promised myself not to let anyone down, and I think I have always succeeded.

After several sessions come the shy laughter and his problem, almost without realizing it, is disappearing. We didn’t do any magic, we just looked for the guidelines and techniques needed to make my patient happy. At the end of these sessions, I think back to the evolution of the patients and I especially thank them for making me so easy and so beautiful, because they have improved but I have grown.

Put yourself in the hands of professionals for whom your well-being is very important. I, at the Guasimara Hernández Psychological Center, am attached to proximity and to supporting my patients throughout the psychological process; every step we all take will go together, and you will never feel alone or alone.
