The experiential Alba Emoting method: what it is and on what ideas it is based

Dawn Experiential Emoting (AEV) is a transformational method for working, improving and releasing emotions.

It was created in the 1970s by German psychophysiologist Susana Bloch after extensive research to find out what pure basic emotional patterns looked like.

Characteristics of the Alba Emoting Vivencial method

From Susana Bloch’s perspective, human beings live in mixed emotions, Or secondary, as dominated by Antonio Damasio in “The Error of Descartes”. This means that we do not, for example, feel joy in a pure way, but that we can go hand in hand with sadness (like when we cry emotionally).

If we stop for a moment and take a trip through our daily life, we will realize that the emotional experience is full of grief, sadness, anger, fear, fear, anxiety, sensuality and tenderness. Each of these emotions is linked to the others and we rarely experience them in an authentic way.

So … what is Alba Emoting Vivencial? It is a scientifically validated method after the discovery of the effector models of pure basic emotions in a large population.

The first contact started at the University of Chile School of Medicine, continuing the project in the United States, France and Spain. The emotions studied were: joy, sadness, fear, anger and love. After the search has completed, love was divided into two subjectively, physiologically and behaviorally differentiable forms: eroticism (sexuality) and tenderness. (Filial love, parental love, friendship and companionship).

The division of love into two forms is postulated in that both emotions are necessary for the survival of the species. If there was no eroticism, the species would disappear and there would be no universal elements to recognize the desire of the other person. On the other hand, tender emotion is vital for the protection and care of all human beings in the first years of life.

These six emotions gave way to the further development of the search for effector models.. After years of meticulous and systematic experiments, it was possible to certify this effector system of each emotion.

    Basic emotions

When we step into the pure core emotion, we unlock the stranded material and a release occurs which results in a bodily feeling of well-being and calm.

According to Darwin in 1868, basic emotions meet certain characteristics:

    • They are universal and have universal facial expressions, recognizable by all individuals of the same species.
    • They are biologically primitive in that they are fundamental to the survival of the species.
    • They are acculturated, emotions are present in all cultures and in all races.
    • They are of the first order for the ontogenic development of the species.

“A basic emotion implies a functional state, physical and mental, which is different and specific according to the emotion” (Bloch, 2003).

      The functions of this method

Without a doubt, the basic emotion is a relational code of the human being which invites him to adapt to different circumstances without losing its essence. This system constantly regulates the functioning of life in all its complex range of its biodiversity.

On the other hand, science knows little about the physiological bases that are activated by emotional states. We know the heart rate is altered, there is a galvanic response, and blood pressure is affected as well, although there is still a long way to go. But we know after extensive experimentation that there are effective models for each emotion and these are specific and unique to each of the emotions mentioned.

The development of the method is carried out by a specialist in the Alba Emoting Vivencial system and can be done in groups or individually.

The method is studied to improve emotional blockages and all kinds of disorders, For the management and self-knowledge of social and emotional skills, for the development of creativity and personal growth.
